why i'm scared of my christmas present.

So I hope everyone in blogland had a fantastic Christmas with family and loved ones. I only worked last Tuesday so I had an extremely long break and used the week to do my Christmas shopping and I also used the time to finish my book. This book is addicting and I told myself I had to finish it before I saw the movie.

I also had a great time with my sweet nieces.
Mom and I thought it would be a good idea to set up the girls
playhouse and they could take their naps inside
Listen, if you set up a playhouse, the last thing children want to do is sleep.
Stupid mistake. But they had loads of fun playing and I managed to squeeze in...

Riley snuck in the playhouse too.
We also went lookin' at Christmas lights last week.
There is a house in my old neighborhood that has the coolest decorations
and it seriously always has a line of cars waiting to look at it.

Ok.. so now on to why I'm scared of my Christmas present. I may sound a little cray cray but stay with me, I have a point.

I have been without a smart phone for my whole life
and been doing just fine.
Don't get me wrong, I have for sure been wanting
an iPhone and it clearly has been a huge success in this world, obviously.
I hear people say I don't know what I would do without it. And that's cool.
However, one of my biggest pet peeves
(and forget you if you are one of those people
who say my biggest pet peeve is people who have pet peeves),
is when people are CONSTANTLY on their phones.
When I am trying to speak to you, look at me in the EYE
and let me know you hear what I am saying.
Don't text the entire time you asked me to come hang out with you.
I would ride the bus to school in the morning and could look around and everyone would be looking directly down in their laps at a phone. Speak to people! Be human.

So why am I scared? Because I got an iPhone and I don't want to become one of those people. You may say, then don't become one of those people.... but guess what? This phone is really cool.....

Happy Holidays everyone! Have a great New Year!
P.S  I am super excited for my iPhone and super grateful to have one. Just look up every once in a while everyone!

Weekend Update.

What a great weekend I had... You wanna know all about it? Sure thing.
Phil Wickham was ah-mazing. What a great way to do some praise and worship and remember the reason for the season. Plus, it was so much fun to have gone with this guy...
 Me and Papa Don

I am so blessed to have a father who encourages
me in my spiritual growth, and I love that he loves the same music as me! He's pretty rad.
I didn't get many pics at the concert. Unfortunate, i know. But here are just a couple...
I wasn't kidding when I said 'not that many pictures' .
Friday night I got crafty and made snowflakes... Seriously, that's what I did with my Friday evening and in no way am I ashamed.
My first attempt at a snowflake. Nailed it.

Snowflakes are tricky yall! So I did some pinteresting and found out how to make the perfect snowflake( don't argue with me, these are perfect.)

I saw magazine snowflakes and thought these would be a cool way to recycle material I already had and plus they bring in a little color! Hope you enjoy, whoever 'you' are.

Hooray!

I can not believe it is Friday already, this week has flown by and that is ok with me because I'm totes excited for this weekend.

First off, I'd like to give a shout out to my first follower. Hey, it's cool that we've known each other since kindergarten.

Bess Frans

At least someone is reading this. I appreciate you.

Back to this weekend. Tomorrow I will be attending a musical treat.
I am in love with Phil Wickham's music and he is by far one of my favorite musicians.
Papa don (mi padre) and I will be going to see Phil &
Shane and Shane tomorrow night. Super excited. So that's the plan.
My lovely first follower suggested that I start doing link-ups so I can make some friends in the bloggy world. Once I figure out how to do that I will be all over it. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

now i know everyone and their mother and their mother's mother has done a cover of this song, but i just gotta share him... see you tomorrow phil!

It's the freakin weekend baby

Hope everyone in bloggy world had a fabulous weekend! I went on up to Fayetteville to visit some friends and treat myself for finishing my paper...

Thursday night I went to Georges to see Here Come the Mummies..
Best funk jazz band evahhh!
Go add them to your Pandora station and enjoy!
Planning to go to Fay-town this weekend worked out perfectly because on Saturday I was able to volunteer with NWA Help Portrait. It's the most creative way of giving back to individuals and/or families in need and so so glad to be a part of it again this year. I only wish it took place more than once a year! I think it's a really cool opportunity for photographers so if you are interested go check out what it's about at, http://help-portrait.com/

I had so much fun being with such great company and hopefully it won't be too long before I return. Check out my adventures below!
Now that's a show eh?

Good friends are awesome. Good friends that can cook yummy delicious meals, even better!!!
While I do not have a picture of that delicious meal, I do have some pictures of the good friends... AND the card game that makes the loser wear a box on their head and do whatever people tell them to do.

and then a dance party of course.

Went to dinner with some friends and had to get our picture in front of the bad A christmas tree at Hunan Manor.

I was going to add more pictures but it just takes too dang long.

BUT I did want to share this one last photo on my drive home, I thought it was really beautiful. God sure did give me a good view for my 3 1/2 hour drive.

Study Buddy

This is Motley. Grinch feet and all. Pros to living at home with you parents-- free stuff.
The Cons? At my house, it would be the 6 living animals. They are the worst... only when they don't look at you like this. Motley likes to scratch at my door until my ears can't take it anymore. I think he knows I'm under a little bit of pressure here with my senior paper.

So he offered to help.

Very Resourceful..
Welp, hope yalls monday isn't too manic, see you tomorrow blogland...

Snug as a bug in a rug... i wish..

Being a procrastinator sucks.....
Thankfully this time, I didn't stick to my ole' usual ways. My senior paper is what's keeping me back from being 'officially' graduated from the University of Arkansas... after this paper I will really feel like this...

Sorry I went with the ultra large picture, just had to showcase how exciting this is. It took me a longer than usual time to graduate and hey that's A-OK. Things don't always go according to plan, I'm grateful they didn't, you learn.

Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.
Write that down.

So, I've got just a couple more days to get last minute stuff done, and make corrections. I'm hoping I haven't left out any major paragraphs or messed up on citation. Plagiarism is a bitch.

And so is being sick. I've got the sniffles and whatever else gross stuff is going around. Pam and I have been on the same couch sneezing and coughing and being gross... (Pam is my mother, fyi,)

So I made some hot chocolate and just gonna suck it up and do what I gotta do.

I've gotta go make more now, it's been devoured in writing this post. Have a fantastic weekend, blogland!
